The terms below represent the most commonly used concepts in SAFIO. Some are specific to the application, while others are standard supply chain, forecasting, inventory planning, and reporting terms.

Account
A customer, sales channel, location, or other business entity against which demand and forecasts may be managed.
Account Forecast
A forecast created for a specific combination of product and account.
Assembly Cost
The cost associated with assembling or manufacturing a finished product from its component parts.
Attribute
A custom field used to categorize products. Attributes allow organizations to filter, group, analyze, and report on data using business-specific classifications such as brand, category, vendor, region, or product line.

Bill of Materials (BOM)
A hierarchical relationship that defines how a finished product is assembled from one or more component products.

Category
A product classification used to group similar products for planning, reporting, and analysis.
Contracted Price
The agreed-upon purchase price for a product from a specific vendor.
Curve
A demand distribution profile used to allocate forecast quantities across future time periods based on historical patterns or business rules.
Curve Assignment
The process of assigning a forecast curve to a product or group of products.

Dashboard
A visual summary of key planning, forecasting, purchasing, or inventory metrics.
Demand
The quantity of a product expected to be sold or consumed during a future period.
Demand Planning
The process of forecasting future demand to support purchasing, inventory, and supply chain decisions.
Division
A business unit or organizational grouping used to classify products.
Drop Ship Price
The selling price for products that are shipped directly from a vendor to the customer.

Estimated Receipt Date
The expected date a purchase order is scheduled to be received into inventory.
Extended Revenue
The total revenue for a sales order or shipment line, calculated by multiplying the quantity by the unit price.

File Update
The date and time associated with the most recent import or update of a record.
Forecast
An estimate of expected future demand.
Forecast Lock
A control that prevents forecasts from being modified for selected planning periods.

Inventory
The quantity of product currently available for sale, use, or distribution.
Inventory Date
The effective date of an inventory snapshot.

Location
A warehouse, distribution center, store, or other inventory location tracked within SAFIO.

On Hand
The quantity of inventory currently available at a specific location.
Open Quantity (Qty Open)
The quantity on a purchase order or sales order that has not yet been fulfilled, received, or shipped.
Order Increment
The quantity in which a product must be ordered from a vendor.

Packed Increment
The quantity in which a product is packaged or shipped by a vendor.
Planner
A user responsible for reviewing, adjusting, and maintaining forecasts.
Planner Forecast
The final forecast maintained by planners after reviewing statistical recommendations and business inputs.
Product
An item that is planned, purchased, manufactured, stocked, or sold.
Product Hierarchy
The organizational structure used to group products for planning, reporting, and analysis.
Product ID
A unique identifier used to distinguish a product within an organization’s source systems.
Purchase Lead Time
The amount of time between placing a purchase order and receiving inventory from a vendor.
Purchase Order (PO)
A request to purchase products from a vendor.
Purchase Order Receipt
A record indicating that products from a purchase order have been received into inventory.

Requested Ship Date
The requested date a vendor should ship ordered products.
Retail Price
The standard selling price offered to retail customers.
Reporting
The dashboards and reports used to analyze planning performance, inventory health, forecast accuracy, and operational metrics.

Sales History
Historical sales or shipment data used as the foundation for statistical forecasting.
Sales Representative
A user responsible for reviewing and maintaining forecasts for assigned customer accounts.
Shipment
A completed fulfillment transaction representing products delivered to a customer.
SKU
Stock Keeping Unit. A unique identifier representing a specific product.
SKU Status
The current lifecycle status of a product, such as Active, Inactive, or Discontinued.
Statistical Forecast
A system-generated forecast based on historical demand and forecasting algorithms.
Subcategory
A secondary classification used to further organize products within a category.

Time Period
A planning interval, such as a week or month, used for forecasting and reporting.
U #
Unit Cost
The cost to acquire or manufacture one unit of a product.
Unit of Measure (UOM)
The standard measurement used to track inventory and transactions for a product, such as Each (EA), Case (CS), or Pallet (PLT).
Unit Revenue
The revenue generated from the sale of a single unit of a product.

Vendor
A supplier that provides products purchased by the organization.
Vendor Code
A unique identifier assigned to a vendor.
Vendor Product
The relationship between a product and one of its vendors, including purchasing information such as pricing, lead times, and ordering constraints.
Vendor SKU
The product identifier used by a specific vendor, which may differ from your organization’s SKU.

Weeks of Supply (WOS)
A measure of how long current inventory is expected to last based on forecasted demand.
Wholesale Price
The selling price offered to wholesale customers.
